What is LMIA in Canada?

Labour Market impact assessment, or LMIA, is a document an employer may need to get before they can employ a foreign worker to fill a position. A Positive LMIA, also known as a Confirmation Letter, will show that no Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident is qualified or available to take up the role, hence the need to source a foreign worker.
